Your farm records are yours. Here's exactly what Pocket Barn keeps and what leaves your phone.
The short version: there are no accounts. Your animals, records, photos and money entries are saved on your own phone, not on our servers. A few small things leave the phone only when you use the features that need them. They're listed below. We don't sell your information or show ads.
Everything you enter in Pocket Barn: animal profiles and photos, health and breeding records, reminders, feed room counts, contacts, expenses, income and receipt photos. It's stored in your phone's browser storage for the Pocket Barn app. We can't see it.
Because it lives on your phone, deleting Pocket Barn, clearing your browser data, or losing your phone can erase it. That's why the app reminds you to save a backup. Backup files are saved wherever you choose to put them, like your Files app or an email to yourself.
To send you a morning nudge, your phone shares a few things with Pocket Barn's reminder sender, which runs on Cloudflare:
Nothing else from your records is sent. Turning notifications off deletes this, and it's also deleted automatically if the app isn't opened for about four months.
When you scan a receipt while you have signal, the photo is sent to be read by Claude, an AI service from Anthropic, along with the names and kinds of your animals so items can be sorted (for example, layer feed goes to Poultry). Pocket Barn's server passes the photo along and doesn't save it. The receipt photo stays on your phone with the expense. With no signal, the receipt is read on the phone itself and nothing is sent.
If you sign up on getpocketbarn.com, your email address and first name (if you give it) are kept by Kit, the email service we use, so we can send you Pocket Barn updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
getpocketbarn.com and the app are hosted by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, handles basic technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages and keep the site secure. Pocket Barn doesn't use advertising trackers.
